This is the kind of romanticized image of the pyramids most people have before visiting Giza. But the reality is, for better or worse, different — with certain parts of the pyramid complex overrun with tourists; with tour buses obstructing the view; and with the city creating a contrasting backdrop just beyond... I wouldn't say that it's disappointing, but the reality is more complex than the popular image.
